  • Cost of Delay Calculator

    Cost of delay calculator published by Franklin Templeton is one of the best calculators that can be used to check the percentage of estimated wealth creation loss, if an investors delays his/her investments by X years. The program is very user friendly and the data can be feed into the program by simply dragging the arrow cursor with the mouse. The calculator is divided into two parts. The first part on the left hand side of the calculator allows you to input the basic data and the output show you the wealth that will be created at the end of desired years.

    The second part on the right hand side shows you the percentage of estimated wealth creation loss that will occur if you delay your investments by say X years.

    For example, If your age is 30 years and you are willing to invest 100,000 Rs per year and you are willing to invest up to 50 years of age, at 12% rate of return per annum, than the amount of corpus you will be able to collect at the end of 20 years is 8,111,665 Rs. On the right hand side, enter the number of years you want to delay your investments. If you delay your investments by 2 years, than you will be losing 23% estimated wealth.

    The calculator is useful for individuals who are investing their money as well as for financial advisors helping their clients in financial planning.
